Continental Training Access Program

Training Can Open Doors. Cost Shouldn't Close Them.

The Continental Environmental Consulting Group of Kansas City offers limited scholarships and tuition assistance to help eligible individuals access professional environmental, EHS and workplace safety education.

Why We Created This Program

Opportunity Should Not Depend Entirely on Who Can Afford the Course.

Environmental compliance and workplace safety are specialized fields, and gaining the knowledge needed to enter or advance in them can become expensive quickly.

Continental created the Training Access Program to help reduce that barrier for people who are serious about developing their skills but may not have an employer paying their tuition.

Awards are limited and depend upon available scholarship funding, course availability and applicant circumstances.

You do not have to already work in environmental or safety to apply.

Career changers, students, entry-level professionals, displaced workers and people trying to move into environmental or EHS work are welcome to apply.

Available Assistance

More Than One Way to Get Help.

Assistance may vary based on available funding. Applicants do not need to determine which award category they qualify for before applying.

Full Tuition

Full Scholarship

May cover up to 100% of tuition for one approved Continental training course when sufficient scholarship funding is available.

Partial Tuition

Tuition Assistance

Provides a partial tuition award when an applicant can contribute toward the cost of training but needs additional assistance.

Career Development

Career Transition Award

Designed for individuals entering environmental, EHS or safety work, returning to the workforce, changing careers or developing skills for a new professional opportunity.

Workforce Access

Displaced Worker Assistance

Training assistance may be available for individuals affected by layoffs, job displacement, reduced employment or significant employment transitions.

Small Business

Small Business Training Assistance

Limited assistance may be available when a very small employer needs safety or environmental training for employees but has limited training resources.

Community Partners

Sponsored Scholarships

Businesses, organizations and community partners may sponsor training seats that Continental can award to eligible applicants.

Eligibility

Who Can Apply?

We intentionally keep the application accessible. Financial need matters, but it is not the only circumstance we consider.

You May Be a Good Candidate If You:

  • Are paying for professional training yourself.
  • Are unemployed, underemployed or recently displaced.
  • Are changing careers into environmental, EHS or safety work.
  • Are a student or recent graduate building professional skills.
  • Work for a small organization with limited training resources.
  • Need additional training to pursue advancement or a new position.
  • Have another financial circumstance that makes tuition difficult.

What We Consider

  • Demonstrated financial or professional-development need.
  • How the requested course supports the applicant's goals.
  • The applicant's stated plan for using the training.
  • Course availability.
  • Available scholarship funds.
  • Previous Training Access Program awards, when applicable.

We do not require applicants to write a dramatic hardship story. Tell us plainly what you need and why the training would help.
